Mission / Credo

The Étude Group is an educational network that applies an experiential approach to empower people to think critically, engage creatively, and establish strong human connections in order to cultivate the next generation of changemakers

Intelligence: We believe in empowering people to grow intellectually, stimulating their curiosity and guiding them to be self-actualized critical thinkers. Educated empowerment is our biggest challenge and our most satisfactory result.

Authenticity/Experiential: We believe education needs to be an authentic process —relevant and contextual— to engage students in learning that is modeled after professional disciplines, Habits of Mind, and Habits of Professionalism/Learning. Our approach helps people naturally pursue knowledge that is relevant to the real world and entails more than other traditional, standardized, and prescriptive models.

Creativity: We ignite people’s desire to develop original ideas that have merit to others.

Diversity: We cultivate a diverse environment in all of our programming in order to foster divergent thinking, innovation, cultural exchange, intellectual expansion, and civil discourse.

Equity: We believe in providing equal access to opportunity as a means to achieve social justice.

Empowerment: We believe education is a powerful instrument that should help people grow by developing metacognitive and critical thinking habits. It is meant to help them achieve an intellectual and emotional well being and a sense of fulfilment. We understand individual evolution as a transformative and infinite-yet-measurable process.

Community: We believe that our community is a joyful environment, where humane interaction is part of an evolving participatory culture. In that sense, we have created a positive space where students, staff, and families are collaborative, engaged, and committed.

Passion: We believe that people learn best when they are passionate about what they learn and the way they learn it.
